The red phone app for android description: The red phone is a basic sip soft phone application.

One of our hobbies at little bytes of pi is voip telephony.

We use a raspberry pi and the open source asterisk telephone server software to get free home phone service and we wanted to build a sip client application to go with it.

The red phone is built with the popular linphone open source software.

It has only a few modifications: it is painted red to match the colour scheme of our raspberry pi it only has phone functions the video and chat features in the linphone core are hidden.
